My father wanted another Boykin Spaniel and was ready to call a breeder. I implored him to check pet finder first. It was there that he found Barnaby, a Boykin Spaniel mix and the love of our lives. Dad drove 12 hours to South Carolina and 12 hours back with Barnaby in tow. They were instant best friends. Four months later my dad was diagnosed with cancer. On his death bed, he asked me to take Barnaby and care for him always. He was more worried about Barnaby than his own children!
Barnaby came to live with us and was soon joined by the human sister that he has helped raise. Barnaby is my best friend in the world and he reminds me every single day of the man who drove 24 hours to bring him home. Barnaby is just pure love.
