Yobies

When I rescued my girl Yobies ( # 6 of 7 ) she was 1 year and 2 months old & weighed only 4 lbs due to abuse, malnutrition and dehydration. She had almost no fur and it was obvious she had some brain damage. 7 teeth had to be pulled from being kicked. She was a terrified, shy Chihuahua/Terrier mix. She had so many neurological problems the vet suggested she be put down because she was so damaged. But together we made a life of hiking, kayaking and outdoor adventures that kept her active and happy for 15 yrs. She had lots of phobias and quirks but as long as she was happy and safe that was good enough. Don't give up on an animal! They have so much to adjust too and need to learn a whole new routine and how to trust humans again. They can't tell you what they've lived through or why they act the way they do. To see Yobies smile and twirl around in excitement was huge! I wouldn't have traded those years for anything.
